Austin Music Festivals
Austin is full of music festivals and before the year is out the city has several great opportunities left. We have all genres of music for every kind of music fan. If you’re interested here are some good upcoming options:
1. Austin City Limits Music Festival
This music festival is an Austin staple and one that you absolutely need to experience. This is the first year back post quarantine and the line up looks amazing! The event is going to be over the course of two weekends in early October. One of my favorite things to do for this event is to actually take a paddleboard or kayak and listen from the water for free.
2. iHeartCountry Music Festival
This is a fun event that is relatively affordable in terms of other music festivals. The event this year is at the Frank Erwin Center and is going to feature Toby Keith, Little Big Town, and Blake Shelton. It’s a weekend event that will bring you to downtown Austin with plenty of free time between songs to explore the city!
3. Blues on the Green
There is a completely free festival happening the entire month of August called Blues on the Green where you can enjoy local musicians at Zilker Park. The only caveat is that it happens on the weekdays, typically Wednesdays. That might make attending a little difficult for some, but it is definitely worth it. When you get there it features plenty of local cuisine and shops to enhance your experience.
Hopefully one of these events fills your listening desires for a fun and satisfying experience. If not there are a bunch of venues around the city that have nightly live music. As Covid ends live music returns to Austin we’ll do more blog posts involving live music.
